Educational/Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Describe the imaging features of various foreign substances injected into the breast.
  2. Recognize the limitations of breast imaging modalities in patients with injected foreign substances and associated foreign body reactions.
  3. Identify steps for appropriate management follow-up.

Physician Accreditation Statement:
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of The American College of Radiology and Society of Breast Imaging. The American College of Radiology is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physician Credit Designation:
The American College of Radiology designates this journal-based CME activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Radiologic Technologists Accreditation Statement:
The American College of Radiology is approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism (RCEEM) to sponsor and/or review Continuing Education programs for Radiologic Technologists and Radiation Therapists.

Radiologic Technologists Credit Designation Statement:
The American College of Radiology designates this educational activity as meeting the criteria for up to 1 Category A credit hour of the ARRT.

Instructions to Receive Credit:
In order to successfully complete the activity, participants must complete the post-test with an 80% or higher passing score; participants will have 3 attempts to successfully complete the post-test. Upon successful completion of the post-test participants must complete an activity evaluation and claim credit commensurate with their participation in the activity.
